You can opt for electronic tax mail
Now you can activate electronic tax mail – regardless of whether you are an individual taxpayer or a business taxpayer – when you log in to MyTax. A suggestion for moving on to electronic tax mail will appear. However, the suggestion will not show if you are a Suomi.fi Messages user or if your company has electronic tax mail enabled already.
For individual taxpayers: If you save your e-mail address or phone number in MyTax:
- You will get the letters and decisions related to your taxes only electronically in MyTax;
- Whenever a new letter, message, decision, etc. has arrived in MyTax for you, you will receive a notification. The Tax Administration will send it to the e-mail or phone number you had saved.
For business and corporate taxpayers: If your company’s list of e-mails of people managing taxes is empty, add your own e-mail address to receive notifications from the Tax Administration when a new letter, decision, etc. is waiting for you in MyTax.
After your electronic tax mail selection, the Tax Administration will no longer send you paper letters.
For self-employed operators, for agricultural and forestry taxpayers: go to My tax matters
If you are an operator of trade or business (T:mi), an agricultural/forestry operator, select Manage your tax matters in MyTax. When you start with Manage your tax matters, you can access all your tax affairs.
If your accountant or other representative logs in to MyTax on your behalf, the selection should be Manage taxes for a company instead. In this case, you would have authorised the accountant or representative to type in your Business ID when using MyTax for you.
Business taxpayers get the notifications on all items and topics
Whereas previously, a setting could be made in MyTax for blocking certain tax topics and receiving only a selected category of messages and notifications, now you will notified of all items and topics relating to your MyTax account.
You can receive e-mail notifications about MyTax messages arriving to the company when
- Your e-mail is saved under Taxpayer details and under Your own details.
- You hold the rights to sign for the company or you have the “Managing tax affairs” mandate.
