How to enter your tax number into the tax number register in MyTax

Employees in the construction and shipbuilding industries must be entered into the public register of tax numbers maintained by the Tax Administration. You can enter your tax number into the register in MyTax.

Once your tax number has been registered, you can start working on a construction site or a shipyard. Please note that when you are working on a construction site or a shipyard, you must have a photo ID that shows your tax number.

Do as follows

Log in to MyTax (opens in a new window). After you have logged in, do as follows:

  1. Select the Communications tab.

  2. Select the Taxpayer details and then click Tax number.

  3. Registration request stage:

Here you can see whether your tax number is registered in the construction industry’s or the shipbuilding industry’s register.

Report the changes to the registers separately.

    • If you work on a construction site, select I am entering a tax number into the construction industry’s register under the Construction industry’s register section.
    • If you work at a shipyard, select I am entering a tax number into the shipbuilding industry’s register under the Shipbuilding industry’s register section.

Example: You work in the construction industry and at a shipyard. Your tax number has already been entered into the construction industry’s register. When you report your tax number to the shipbuilding industry’s register, select “I am not reporting changes to the construction industry’s register” under the Construction industry’s register section and select “I am entering a tax number into the shipbuilding industry’s register” under the Shipbuilding industry’s register section.

Click Next and go to the Send request stage.

  4. Send request stage:

Click Submit. After this, your tax number will be entered into the tax number register.
