Did you receive your pre-completed tax return without its decision section? The Tax Administration will send you the tax decision later. 

Update March 19 to this page: We added the date when all pre-completed returns will appear in MyTax: by 27 March 2025.

Unfortunately, approximately one million individual taxpayers received their pre-completed returns only with a “preliminary calculation” (alustava verotuslaskelma), with the “tax decision section” missing. This was caused by a technical reason.  System-generated tax returns containing no decision (verotuspäätös; beskattningsbeslut) were sent out during the weekend 15 and 16 March 2025.    

If you are among the individual taxpayers who got the preliminary calculation instead of the decision, your pre-completed return will show the amounts of your tax refund or back tax – but no due dates or other important details needed for receiving or sending a tax payment.    

The Tax Administration recommends that you simply make the usual checks to ensure that your pre-completed return’s other pages contain all the amounts and information as they should be. If anything is missing or if something is not right, you should follow the normal deadlines to edit your pre-completed return and send it back. The final date for sending back the return is printed on the first page. However, if all the amounts and information are correct, you do not need to do anything.  

In June and later, the Tax Administration will generate and send out all the missing decision sections. Those individual taxpayers whose pre-completed returns were affected will not have any due dates for paying back taxes before September.

All pre-completed returns will appear in MyTax by 27 March 2025.
