Lomake.fi will close down – returns can be filed in MyTax in future

The Lomake.fi service will close down for all users on 29 February 2024. For real estate agents and securities brokers, the service closes down earlier, on 31 December 2023. After this date, real estate agents and securities brokers can no longer file transfer tax returns in Lomake.fi.

Annual information returns as well as real estate agent’s and securities broker’s transfer tax returns can be filed in MyTax as of 19 November 2023. When filing these returns, after logging in click the new link “Report or request information in a limited scope”.

After Lomake.fi closes down, multinational groups will also have to submit notifications concerning country-by-country reporting in MyTax.

Please note that Lomake.fi’s My e-Services feature will also be discontinued. If you want to keep the filings you have made in Lomake.fi saved, you need to save them on your computer before My e-Services is discontinued.

Transfer tax returns for real estate agents and securities brokers to be filed in MyTax

Real estate agents and securities brokers can start filing transfer tax returns in MyTax at 6 pm on 19 November. Lomake.fi can still be used alongside MyTax until the end of 2023.

As of 1 January 2024, it will no longer be possible to file new returns or view previously filed returns in Lomake.fi. If you want to save your old filings, remember to save them on your computer before the end of the year.

If there is an API between the real estate agent's or securities broker's software and the Tax Administration, it will work as before – no changes are to be expected. However, APIs will be briefly out of use while the Tax Administration updates its systems, closing at 1 am on 18 November and opening again at 5 pm on 19 November at the latest, possibly earlier.

Annual information returns can be filed in MyTax

The annual information returns that can now be filed in the Tax Administration e-service will be made available in MyTax at 6 pm on 19 November 2023.The login page to the Tax Administration e-service will be taken out of use. Check which annual information returns will be transferred from the Tax Administration e-service to MyTax.

In addition, you will be able to file the following returns in MyTax starting 2 January 2024:

  • grants paid
  • transferred foreign dividends
  • insurance indemnities paid to business operators and farmers
  • public support for business operators
  • deductions for donations made by natural persons.

Annual information returns for 2023 must be filed by 31 January 2024.

If you have been previously able to file the annual information return in Lomake.fi, you can still file the return for 2023 there until Lomake.fi closes down. Annual information returns can also be uploaded as software-generated files in the Ilmoitin.fi service.

You do not need a separate Suomi.fi authorisation for filing

You can log in to MyTax using your personal online banking codes, a mobile certificate, or a certificate card. After login, click the link “Report or request information in a limited scope” to file returns without a Suomi.fi authorisation. However, MyTax keeps a log of who has filed the returns.

Notifications regarding country-by-country reporting can be filed in MyTax in future

As of 6 pm on 19 November 2023, you can use MyTax to file notifications regarding country-by-country reporting, i.e. notifications of the reporting entity and country-by-country reports. Log in to MyTax and select “Act on behalf of a company”.
You can continue using Lomake.fi alongside MyTax until Lomake.fi closes down.

Country-by-country reporting on taxation concerns multinational groups whose consolidated turnover is at least €750 million. You can continue using Ilmoitin.fi to file the reports as before.
