You can now order production certificates and APIs from the Tax Administration’s certificate service

The Tax Administration’s certificate service is an e-service where you can manage your organisation’s API rights and certificates.

You need an active certificate if you want to submit or retrieve data through an API. API users include accounting firms, employers, and banks and other lenders. The use of APIs and certificates requires technical skills. Discuss with your software supplier the procedures related to using APIs.

The Tax Administration’s certificate service’s Production certificates section was opened to users today on 24 October 2024. After the launch, API rights or certificates can no longer be managed in the Incomes Register’s e-service.

– Companies and organisations can now request production APIs and certificates to the Tax Administration and the Incomes Register from the certificate service. We hope that the new service will meet our customers' needs as well as possible, says product owner Anni Peuranen.

If you use the Positive credit register, you can use the Tax Administration’s certificate service to request additional certificates for that purpose.

When you sign in to the service for the first time, check your organisation's details

Production APIs and certificates that already exist have been copied to the service. History data on certificates that have expired or that have not been retrieved has not been imported.

Go to the front page of the certificate service to log in to the Production certificates section.

• Identify yourself using your online banking codes, a mobile certificate or a certificate card.
• You will also need to have either an official role in the company or organisation you represent or a Suomi.fi authorisation.

When you sign in to the Tax Administration’s certificate service for the first time, you need to verify that your organisation has access to the APIs that it needs, and that you have updated the information concerning your organisation’s contact persons for technical matters.

Testing certificates section will open in December

The Testing certificates section will also launch soon. This section of the service will enable ordering testing APIs and certificates from the service.

– The launch of the service was divided into two parts, because our main focus has been to offer a fast and reliable certificate service to the users. The Test certificates section will be opened on 11 December 2024, at 9 am, says Peuranen.
