The Tax Administration sends an e-invoicing proposal to 200,000 OP banking customers

News, 9/24/2024

In September–October, around 200,000 private customers of OP will receive an e-invoicing proposal from the Tax Administration in their mobile and e-banks. The proposal is sent to OP customers who pay real estate tax this year, have submitted an OP bank account number to the Tax Administration and have not yet submitted an e-invoicing request.

When a customer signs in to the OP-mobile app or the op.fi online service, OP Aina, a personal assistant, will tell them that an e-invoicing proposal has arrived. The customer can easily accept the proposal in the chat with the help of Aina. The customer can also find the proposal in the op.fi service by selecting E-invoice proposals under Payments on the home page.

The customer has 30 days to accept the proposal. After that, the e-invoicing proposal will be deleted automatically.

When the customer accepts the proposal, they will receive e-invoices for real estate tax, prepayments, back taxes, inheritance tax and gift tax in the future. Unfortunately, there is not enough time left so that we could send e-invoices for back taxes and real estate taxes due in October, but we still recommend accepting the proposal for future taxes.

E-invoice is a safe and easy way to pay

E-invoices make it easier to pay taxes, because the invoices arrive in the mobile and e-banks well before the due date. This will help you remember that you have taxes to pay. If you pay your taxes late, you will also have to pay late-payment interest starting from the due date.

The e-invoice also contains all the necessary payment details: the amount, the bank account, the reference number and the due date.

The e-invoicing proposal sent by the Tax Administration is not a scam, and you can safely accept it. A genuine e-invoicing proposal is displayed only in the mobile bank and e-bank. The Tax Administration never sends an e-invoicing proposal by text message and the text messages sent by the Tax Administration never contain links. Similarly, OP Aina never sends sign-in links to customers.

You can request e-invoicing whenever you want

Other OP customers and customers of all other banks can also request e-invoicing from the Tax Administration. You can submit a request in your e-bank or in MyTax at any time. Please note that we need up to two weeks to process the request, so when you request e-invoicing no later than two weeks before the due date, there will be enough time for us to send you an e-invoice for your tax.
