How to identify yourself to telephone service in MyTax
When you want to use the Tax Administration’s telephone service, you can identify yourself to the service in MyTax. When you identify yourself in advance, the official answering your call will have your information ready at hand and can help you more quickly.
You can also call the telephone service without identifying yourself.
Request a code for identification in MyTax
You can request a code in MyTax to identify yourself to our telephone service when you are on queue.
-
Log in to MyTax and select the Communication tab.
-
Go to Identification in the telephone service and select the link Identify yourself for the telephone service.
-
Click Request a code for the telephone service.
-
Enter your phone number and submit the information.
-
You will receive a single-use code that is valid for one hour. You will see the Tax Administration service numbers on the same page. You can type in the code on your phone while you are on queue. The queue announcement will give you further instructions. If needed, you can request a new code by clicking Request a new code.
If you leave a call-back request, your earlier identification will no longer be valid when the official calls you back. This is because the call they make is a new call.
When you call to take care of another person’s or company’s tax matters
Also identify yourself in the above manner in MyTax when you use the telephone service to act on behalf another – for example, if you are an accountant acting on behalf a company. During the call, the official will make sure that you are authorised to act on behalf of the other person or company. Advance identification speeds up the process.
Note an exception: If a person has authorised a company and the company, in turn, has authorised an employee, i.e. you, your authorisation will be verified when you log in to MyTax during the call and select the customer on whose behalf you want to act.
A private individual can protect their use of telephone service
