I am ordering alcohol from abroad for personal use – do I need to pay taxes?
When you are ordering alcohol products from abroad for your personal use, their taxation depends on
- which country the products are coming from
- whether the seller or the buyer is responsible for their transport.
In the case of distance selling: If the distance seller has not filed an advance notice on your order at the Tax Administration and the seller has not paid a guarantee corresponding to the amount of excise duties on the products you ordered, you are responsible for the duties together with the seller.
