The register is being developed on a continuous basis. On this page, we provide technical documentation regarding upcoming changes.

API descriptions

API descriptions describe the data content to be reported, the structure of the messages to be sent to the API and of the response messages returned from the API.
The changes to be released to the API on 7 October 2026 are described in version 2.2 of the description of the API for requesting a credit register extract. The changes relate to the way income data is shown on the credit register extract.

Changes relating to the denial of accuracy of income data will also be published to the production environment in advance on 7 October 2026. However, the register will not disclose this data through the API for requesting a credit register extract until from 4 January 2027 onwards.

The changes to be released to the API on 1 April 2027 are described in version 2.3 of the description of the API for requesting a credit register extract. The changes have to do with how data about a person’s apartment-specific credit liabilities, received from the Residential and Commercial Property Information System of the National Land Survey of Finland, is presented on the credit register extract.

On 7 October 2026, we will make it possible to report data on the acceleration of transferred loans and on the date of acceleration in the New loans API.

API processing rules and error codes

This version describes how the future changes will affect the processing rules and error codes of the API. After the change, acceleration and the date of acceleration can be reported in the New loans API.

Version 2.1 of Message examples includes examples of how the API changes to be released on 7 October 2026 will affect the response messages of the API for requesting a credit register extract. A description of the content of the message examples is provided in a separate document.

Version 2.2 of Message examples includes examples of how the API changes to be released on 1 April 2027 will affect the response messages of the API for requesting a credit register extract. A description of the content of the message examples is provided in a separate document.

The Message examples file (zip) contains earlier released examples supplemented with summary data relating to apartment-specific credit liabilities, and three new message examples describing the API changes to be released on 1 April 2027.

Schema descriptions

Schema descriptions describe the structure and content of the messages, and the simplest requiredness rules. The schema description of the API for requesting a credit register extract and New loans will change on 7 October 2026. You can find a detailed description of the changes in the API descriptions.

The Schema descriptions file (zip) contains only schema descriptions relating to the changes to be introduced on 7 October 2026.
