Notification of requested credit register extracts through Suomi.fi Messages

You will receive a notification when a lender requests a credit register extract about your data. The notifications are sent through Suomi.fi Messages. Go to the Suomi.fi service and make sure you have activated Suomi.fi Messages.

How the notifications work

The notifications are enabled by default, so you will receive them automatically if you have activated Suomi.fi Messages.

A notification may be sent to you once a day but only if one or more credit register extracts have been requested about your data during the past 24 hours.

How to disable notifications

If you do not want to receive notifications, you can disable them in the Positive credit register’s e-service. For detailed instructions, go to the Credit register extracts page and read How to change notification settings.

When will I receive a notification?

You will receive an email notification when a new message from the Positive credit register has arrived for you to Suomi.fi Messages. The notification is sent to the email address you have entered in the settings of Suomi.fi Messages. If you have downloaded the Suomi.fi application on your smartphone, you will receive the notification there as well. Notifications cannot be sent to you on paper.

You can read the content of the notification by logging in to Suomi.fi Messages. If you do not log in to Suomi.fi Messages within a week, Suomi.fi Messages will send you an email reminder that you have an unread message.

What information does the notification contain?

The notification only says that a lender has requested a credit register extract about your data. It does not contain any detailed information on the lender, nor does it say what information has been given to the lender. You can check the details at Check the credit register extracts in the Positive credit register's e-service.

For information security reasons, the notification does not contain a direct link to the Positive credit register.

What is the use of these notifications?

When you receive a notification, you can go to the Positive credit register's e-service and check which lender has requested your extract and for what purpose, and what information has been given to the lender. Because of this, you will quickly notice if someone tries to apply for a loan with your personal data or misuse your information in some other way.

If you suspect that a lender has requested your extract without a justified reason, please contact the lender.
