We have published an updated version of the instructions entitled Reporting data in the Positive credit register on 18 June 2025. These instructions are for organisations that report data to the register. The new version is available here. Previous versions of the instructions are also available in the version history.

What has changed?

The updated instructions have changed in eight sections, including the following:

  • Calculation of the number of debtors.
  • Reporting a running-account loan’s credit limit as zero.
  • Reporting when the borrower has died.
  • Reporting after a fraud or identity theft investigation has concluded.

There is a list of the detailed changes at the top of the instructions. Similar changes have also been made to the instructions for reporting data to the second phase of the register: Reporting data to the Positive credit register as of 1 December 2025.
